Capacity Building for Water and wastewater facilities, operation and maintenance Management Training of Trainers program, conducted, funded by IDH and implemented by Dewel Environmental Solution. The program aimed to develop a skilled trainer to promote sustainable water and wastewater treatment practices across Ethiopia’s Special Economic Zones and Free Trade Zone. The key outcomes of the training are equipped trainers with technical expertise and knowledges for Zero Liquid Discharge and water operation and maintenance, enhanced operational excellence, safety, and environmental compliance in Special Economic Zones and Free Trade Zone, fostered collaboration and experience sharing to strengthen sector wide capacity and empowered trainers to deliver custom-made training programs local contexts.
The initiative establishes a robust foundation for enhancing operational efficiency, ensuring environmental compliance, and fostering sector-wide capacity development. Sustained support and expansion of this program will further strengthen Ethiopia’s water infrastructure management and industrial sustainability.
High satisfaction and confidence in applying learned skills were expressed, with strong interest in ongoing engagement and refresher courses.
